...what the people we have helped say about us at Longer Life.
"I met Neil Hamilton at my local gym after returning from operations in Afghanistan last year. After an extremely physically demanding tour I had lost almost 8 kg of body weight. I serve with a unit that prides itself on its abilities. Not everyone manages to pass the rigorous selection procedures laid down and we have no qualms about adopting an elitist approach to our work. It was important for me, therefore, that I addressed and reversed my physical decline.
I approached Neil to see if he could help me get back in shape, regain strength, power and endurance without compromising my cardiovascular performance…. and I wanted to do it all properly - I'm demanding in that way! Neil's scientific approach to training appealed to me. I wanted to know precisely what condition my body was in. We undertook a full conditions check! Neil calculated my body fat percentage, my cholesterol, my calorie needs just to get through each day, my calorie needs to fuel my training – no stone was left unturned!
Neil showed me that by specifically understanding my own physiology, we could then use that as a foundation from which to apply simple principles of nutrition and specific training. Under Neil's guidance I then moved to a targeted programme, and the partnership has been highly successful.
The advice he's given me hasn't stopped after my first health screening. Every time I see him, he's pointing me in the right direction with useful little bits of advice. And it's not just me he's helped. I am now passing on the benefit of my knowledge (well, pestering is more precise!) to my mates and colleagues so that they too can train smarter and live better."
